The aging of the oil pan gasket is the main cause of transmission failure. Experts call for the simultaneous replacement of the filter screen

According to Autohome's maintenance data, approximately 60% of transmission oil leakage faults are caused by the aging of the oil pan gasket. Experts explain that the gasket will gradually harden under the long-term erosion of high-temperature oil. If it is not replaced in time, it may lead to insufficient oil, accelerated wear of components, and in severe cases, directly shorten the service life of the transmission.
It is worth noting that filter screen clogging and seal failure often occur concurrently. The technical director of Pacific Auto Network reminds: "The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every three years or 60,000 kilometers. At this time, the filter screen and the oil pan gasket must be checked simultaneously." He emphasized that for CVT transmissions, it is recommended to replace the filter every 60,000 kilometers. Although the hard rubber oil pan pad has a longer lifespan, the metal frame is prone to deformation due to impact and needs to be inspected every maintenance cycle.
